EVO RADAR Secures Approval in Ohio

Mar 11, 2025 | News

We are excited to announce that the EVO RADAR (EVO) has officially received approval in Ohio, marking a significant milestone for our traffic detection technology. EVO, renowned for its superior accuracy and reliability, is now listed on the Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) Traffic Approved Products (TAP) list as of January 17th, 2025 (TAP-1-17-2025)

This approval underscores the state’s commitment to enhancing traffic management and safety through cutting-edge technology. EVO boasts impressive specifications, including a 110-degree field of view, allowing EVO to monitor two (2) approaches with just one sensor and covering approaches up to 900 feet (275 m) with exceptional detection accuracy.

The sensor is designed to support a variety of detection modes, including stop-bar, advance, bicycle, and pedestrian detection, making it versatile for diverse intersection geometries. It operates efficiently with only two sensors required for a typical intersection.

With this recognition from ODOT, we look forward to our continued collaboration with municipalities across Ohio to implement EVO in their traffic systems and contribute to smarter, safer roadways.

Key Benefits:

  • Only two sensors required for typical four approach intersections
  • Simple and easy set up
  • Stop bar and advanced detection
  • Pedestrian and bicycle detection
  • Speed and object classification, vehicle counts, and ETA data
