In downtown Mansfield, where intersections are closely spaced and rapid response is critical, traditional line-of-sight preemption systems were no longer sufficient. The GPS-based (cellular and radio) system allows emergency vehicles to change traffic signals to green well before they reach an intersection, based on the vehicle’s direction of travel and use of turn signals. Glance will effectively map out the vehicle’s intended route, ensuring a clear intersection and efficient travel time for emergency responders.
