Millersburg, OH — November 21, 2025 — The Village of Millersburg has approved an $85,000 investment to modernize its downtown traffic signals using next-generation smart-traffic technology. The project, led by Path Master, Inc., will integrate Currux Vision’s AI-powered detection system and Applied Information’s Field Monitoring Units (FMUs) to help ease congestion and enhance safety in the busy three-route intersection at the center of the village.
The convergence of multiple state routes has long created significant traffic backups through downtown, particularly during peak travel periods. Previous traffic studies indicated that the village’s fixed-time signal plans had already been optimized as much as possible; further improvements required a more adaptive, data-driven approach.
The new system will introduce several key capabilities, including:
-
AI-based detection: Currux Vision’s camera analytics will accurately identify vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists in real time.
-
Connected monitoring: Applied Information’s FMUs will provide continuous system health visibility, status reporting, and diagnostics.
-
Dynamic signal timing: Traffic-signal phases will adjust based on actual demand, reducing unnecessary delays and helping traffic flow more efficiently throughout the downtown corridor.
-
Improved pedestrian safety: Enhanced detection ensures safe accommodation of crosswalk activity.
The project includes upgrades at all three downtown intersections. Funding support includes both village permissive tax resources and an additional $20,000 contribution from the Holmes County Commissioners.
Path Master has begun coordinating the implementation process, with installation scheduled to begin in the near future.
